Make a Wish Foundation... they are great!
Since you support them I wanted to tell you a little story about how
wonderful they are.
My girlfriend's young son contracted HIV/AIDS during a heart operation
and passed away at the age of 12 from this disease. He was a great
kid and had always wanted to go to Disneyland. Well, needless to say,
there was no way some little boy who was so sick could go without help.
His mom, she was a single
mom and the dad had never come around, worked full time as a legal
secretary and she didn't have any kind of funds what having to take so
much time off caring for her boy. Anyway, I contacted Make a Wish Foundation and
told them about him and they made an offer to my girlfriend. Called
her on the phone, offered to get him to Disneyland. They drove him
there in a limo because he was too frail to take a plane, had a nurse
come along and arranged for a special Disneyland day.
He got the royal
treatment, all the showgirls kissed him and they took pictures and then
they drove home in the limo. I'll never forget how much they did for
this little boy... And it gave his mom this wonderful memory of a day
full of happiness and fun.
